CERTIFIED WELLNESS COACH II (CWC II) PROGRAM
For students enrolled in the Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà School of Social Work BASW program
Application Process and Requirements for CWC II Pathway at The Beach
- All BASW majors have an opportunity to complete steps to become a Certified Wellness Coach II in the State of California;
- Must have been accepted into the BASW Program at Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ;
- Apply for the CWC II pathway program in Spring Semester of junior year;
- Remain in good standing to complete the University and BASW program required courses to earn the BASW degree;
- Through our educational pathway, when completing an approved youth-serving (ages 0-25) senior year behavioral health practicum [450 hours towards the 800 total hours required for full certification as a Wellness Coach II];
- Complete two additional educational asynchronous modules Fall/Spring Semesters senior year on:
- Neurodivergence
- Disability Approaches
This prepares BASW students to provide support related to youth behavioral health, and is a rapidly expanding education-based career pathway.
In your last semester of your senior year or upon degree completion, you must register at cawellnesscoach.org to begin your journey to full certification as a Certified Wellness Coach II.
There is a six-year statute of limitation (must have completed degree and all practicum hours within 6 years of applying to be a CWC II).
You will need to be registered as you begin earning your additional 350 practicum hours (whichever fits your situation) for earning your certification. [Remember certification requires a total of 800 hours. So, you will have earned 450 hours for your BASW degree; you will need to earn the additional 350 hours of practicum post-BASW].
[Note: You will not have certification upon graduating with your BASW degree. The degree is a pathway to becoming certified after earning the additional practicum hours post-BASW)].
