Linking to a PDF File


  1. In the Drupal editing interface, click the Media Library button.
  2. In the media library, click the 鈥Document鈥 tab in the upper left.
  3. Click 鈥Choose File鈥 to navigate to the file for uploading then click 鈥Save鈥 (Important: Note the name of the file, as you will be searching for it).

The file has been added to the media library. Close the media library window without "inserting" the link on your page.

  1. Back in the Drupal editing interface, select the text you want to hyperlink.
  2. With the text selected, on the content tool bar, click the Hyperlink icon.
  3. In the 鈥淯RL鈥 field, begin to type the name of the file you just uploaded. When you see the file name appear, click it and click 鈥Save.鈥

Your hyperlink has been created.

Searching for PDF

  1. Copy partial URL that appears after you found the PDF
  2. You'll need to complete the URL by adding in the beginning of the partial URL

The URL will become: /sites/default/files/2023/documents/xxx.pdf
